About
Hello! My name is Miguelangel, I'm a designer and illustrator originally from Venezuela, based in Turin (Italy). I graduated in Graphic Design at the Instituto de Diseño de Caracas. After 15 years working in Packaging Design for important communication agencies in Turin and Milan, I decided to return to paper. To improve my technique I attended the summer course at Ars in Fabula with Roger Olmos.
In my childhood I loved experimenting with colors and manual work, such as paper cutting, wood curving, and I loved contemplating nature. The research of the subjects of my drawings is instinctive; speaking from the gut I want to convey my emotions, they have a nostalgic and romantic tone. I'm currently researching and studying to develop my illustration style. My work is characterized by different techniques, and I like to mix colored pencils, watercolors, gouache and ink.
